(Natural News) A new study conducted at the Institute of Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington (HealthData.org) and published in The Lancet medical journal finds that a shocking 20 percent of global deaths are caused by toxic foods, junk foods, processed foods and harmful food ingredients. In essence, the study reveals that the toxic food industry is now about as dangerous as Big Tobacco. The study, based at the Institute of Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington, compiles data from every country in the world and makes informed estimates where there are gaps… Diet is the second highest risk factor for early death after smoking. The problem is often seen as the spread of western diets, taking over from traditional foods in the developing world.
In other words, all the toxic food ingredients, processed foods, junk foods and fast foods that we’ve been warning you about for years are now being recognized by the science establishment to be one of the leading killers of human beings across our planet. Another peer-reviewed study reveals "substantially equivalent" argument for GMO's is completely bogus!
The recent study is entitled An integrated multi-omics analysis of the NK603 Roundup-tolerant GM maize reveals metabolism disturbances caused by the transformation process. To reach its conclusion, it used deep and complex analysis over various fields (proteomics, metabolomics and transcriptomics), which is why the title contains the word multi-omics. These are state-of-the-art molecular profiling ‘omics’ methods. Proteomics is the large-scale study of proteins, metabolomics is the study of small biochemical molecules and transcriptomics is the study of transcriptomes (the set of all messenger RNA molecules in one cell) and their functions. Since this peer-reviewed study quickly jumps into technical language, I am summarizing its results here in plain English to make it more digestible for the average person (and hopefully more digestible than GMO corn!).
The GMO corn had markedly different effects compared to the control non-GM corn. These changes included the plant producing different levels of enzymes, undergoing an imbalance in energy metabolism, having indications of oxidative stress and producing 4 different polyamines (a type of protein). Almost all of these changes are not healthy. It’s important to remember that genetic modification involves the random splicing of genes whose consequences cannot possibly all be measured, taken into account or even known. By studying the results closely on a proteomic, metabolomic and transcriptomic level, the study found that the GM plant was subjected to extra stress. This meant the GM plant had to alter its usual way of growing in order to adapt to the stress by producing more antioxidant enzymes, more hydrogen peroxide and more glutathione (to try to rid itself of the toxic herbicides being sprayed on it). In short, the entire metabolism of the plant was upset:
“The transformation process and the resulting expression of a transgenic protein cause a general disturbance in the GM plant and it is clear that NK603 maize is markedly different from its non-GM isogenic line at the proteome and metabolome levels. In addition, our data correlates with previous studies, which observed higher amounts of ROS (reactive oxygen species) that act as free-radicals promoting oxidative stress in those transgenic plant materials. We also confirm a metabolic imbalance in energy and carbohydrate metabolism.”
The presence of increased levels of polyamines mentioned above (N-acetyl-cadaverine, N-acetylputrescine, putrescine and cadaverine) is a sign that GMOs may be health-destroying rather than health-promoting or substantially equivalent to non-GMO foods. The lead scientist of the study Dr. Michael Antonio acknowledges that these polyamines can sometimes have beneficial effects; however he also writes: “The marked increase in putrescine and especially cadaverine is a concern since these substances are potentially toxic, being reported as enhancers of the effects of histamine, thus heightening allergic reactions, and both have been implicated in the formation of carcinogenic nitrosamines with nitrite in meat products … Additionally, it is known that polyamines are typically elevated in plants under abiotic stress conditions.”
The doctrine of substantial equivalence is based on a shallow and crude analysis that the nutrient compositional profile between GMO and non-GMO foods is roughly comparable or within a similar range. Yet is it fair to conclude the 2 are “close enough” or substantially equivalent just by comparing their nutrient profile? For starters, there are numerous studies that have found that non-GMO or organic produce is far higher in nutrients that its GMO counterpart. However, even if the nutrient profile is similar, any fair comparison must take into account that GMOs are specifically engineered to be heavily sprayed with toxins, such as glyphosate, and to hold this glyphosate in their cells. How can the 2 possibly be substantially equivalent when the GMO variety is chock full of toxins? Additionally, the devil in is the details. The compositional analysis includes measurements of total protein content but not a profile of the different types of proteins which is more important information.
This study is further evidence that we need to quickly re-evaulate the faulty notion that GMOs are somehow different enough to be awarded patents and monopolies based on intellectual property (in essence owning Nature), while substantially equivalent enough that they don’t need labelling, packaging warnings, regulating or outright banning. A government genuinely committed to the health of its citizens would ban GMOs outright pending further investigation, putting the burden of proof upon Big Biotech to demonstrate its modified food does not adversely affect human health. Some nations such as Russia have taken the bold step of outlawing GMOS and refusing any GM food to be allowed in their country. Of course, proving that GMOs do no harm would be most difficult for the Big Biotech corporatocracy, given the existing evidence which implicates GMOs with organ failure, autism, infertility and cancer.

Pig Superbug Now Infecting Humans!
Nearly all pork on the market now is raised in CAFOS (Confined Animal Feeding Operations). This kind of operation is a factory farm, where animals are administered antibiotics, hormones and commonly fed animal parts from their own species. The genetically engineered feed they get, mixed with these "cannibal" parts is certainly contributing to the extreme difficulty of managing the rising incidence of superbug infections. Chipotle was wise in discontinuing their pork menu altogether, as well as going organic in all their food content. Other restaurants are exposing themselves to huge lawsuits if this infection spreads from the food on their menus. Consumers need to be warned that a new strain of MSRA, called LA-MSRA, has emerged in areas where these CAFOS are concentrated. Their is much concern that this may be like the mad cow infection that devastated the beef industry in England. Many of us are familiar with MRSA and Sepsis, that are an earmark of hospital born infections, but the new LA-MSRA superbugs is reported to have infected babies in Denmark, apparently introduced via the umbilical cord during gestation, and the potential hazard of contaminated meats.
Another viral infection (PEDv) wiped out 10% of the pig population in 2013 to 2014 here in the U.S. Although this was confined to the swine population, this illustrates the danger of continued use of the CAFOS for meat production. These dangers are not limited to swine production. Chicken, Turkey and beef are also subject to the numerous problems with confined feeding operations.

"Dozens of House Democrats signed onto a letter sent to President Obama claiming that the spread of GM crops is leading to the death of monarch butterflies." Maybe under the Trump administration, something will be done.
"The situation is so dire, scientists and environmental groups warn that we could see the great monarch migration virtually disappear in a generation, if not sooner," wrote Jason Best, over at TakePart.com.
Studies have shown that pesticide-producing crops contaminate nearby streams, possibly affecting aquatic life. The bt toxin produced by these GM crops are far stronger than any found in nature, and are produced throughout the plant.
They may harm beneficial insects. And, it has been found that previously insignificant insects which are not targeted by the GM varieties develop into pests. Then pesticide spraying resumes, on top of the potential build-up of the extra strong bt toxin in the soil. This has occurred in China, India as well as in the US.
A study, released in March of 2005 was the last of four farm-scale field trials. This one compared GM winter-sown canola (oilseed rape) with non-GM varieties grown side-by-side in 65 plots throughout the UK. For three years, scientists visited fields 7,000 times and counted a million weeds and two million insects. Although the total weed count for the GM and non-GM fields was about the same, the types of weeds were different. GM fields had about one-third fewer seeds from broad-leaved weeds, and that’s the problem for the birds. Skylarks, tree sparrows, bullfinches and others, eat the seeds from these broad-leaved varieties. As the weeds decline, so too would the birds’ chances of survival. Also, insects feed on the flowers of broad-leaved weeds. This helps explain why the bee population among the GM fields was cut by up to half and butterflies by up to two-thirds during the month of July.
GM crops don’t directly reduce insect- and bird-friendly weeds. It’s the herbicide that they are engineered to withstand that does the damage. Of the 170 million acres of GM crops planted around the world—almost three times the size of the UK—about 80 percent have their DNA altered to survive applications of herbicide. Farmers spray over the top of “herbicide tolerant” GM crops, a practice that would kill natural varieties. Farmers apply broad-spectrum herbicides to GM crops later in the season and use more of it—lots more. In the U.S., where 64 percent of the world’s GM crops are planted, herbicide use has grown by 138 million pounds over the last nine years. The rate of application is accelerating due to weeds becoming immune to the herbicide. Based on projections from recent trends and reports from land grant universities, the amount of Roundup herbicide used on GM “Roundup Ready” soy (which comprises 85 percent of the US soy harvest) is estimated to be about 86 percent more than that used on non-GM varieties in 2004. If the UK trials lasted several more years, the herbicide dosage there would also likely increase and its effects be more pronounced.

Just when you think you have heard it all !!!
And it is all being dismissed as another conspiracy theory, even when you see it for yourself and read it from their own documents and hear eye witness testimony...you still can't accept that your government is determined to do you harm for their own discerned benefit! Well, here comes another one and it is even harder to believe.
The past week or so in most areas of flyover country, it has been cloudy, but yesterday (Jan 19) the sky was clear except for chemtrails like the ones you see in the picture above. I know, a lot of you have been convinced that these are just contrails (normal jet exhaust).
Most of us know that when a hydrocarbon burns in oxygen, the reaction will primarily yield carbon dioxide and water. If the combustion is incomplete, as we have seen in older pictures of B52 takeoffs, the unburned byproducts are visible as smoke. Most modern jet engines are more efficient than the old B52 engines, yet some of these byproducts are still visible when jet engines take off because their is not enough ambient oxygen to get a clean burn when so much fuel is being expended at takeoff. For every pound of fuel burned, about 1.26 pounds of water vapor is created but less than 0.0004 ounces of soot because aviation fuel burns cleanly. Even so, the soot provides plenty of ice nuclei, and the water vapor can usually saturate a large volume of air at the temperatures where commercial jets fly. The result is the immediate formation of a contrail, consisting of tiny ice crystals in large concentrations. At temperatures lower than about -76 degrees F, contrails almost always form, regardless of relative humidity. The higher the ambient temperature, the less likely that contrails will form. At temperatures above -40 degrees F, contrails are not expected. The ice crystals are heavier than air, especially at very high altitudes, like 30-40,000 feet where commercial airliners normally fly. So they fall and melt very quickly as they descend. So contrails are always relatively short and sometimes so short as to be unseen without field glasses. Can sublimation explain the wide, expanding clouds we see, sometimes spreading to become cirrus clouds. Yes, in certain conditions, but that will certainly not explain both short and long streaming contrails in the same conditions, which are often visible on clear days.
All right, let's say they are normal and can be explained by varying atmospheric conditions; is it still possible that chemicals can be disguised in the contrails and purposely dropped on us for nefarious purposes? Let me remind you of "Agent Orange" which was dropped on Vietnam to defoliate the jungles and though Monsanto claimed it would not harm humans or animals, we know for a fact that it did. We are also quite aware that avgas (aviation fuel) is a leaded fuel commonly burned by smaller aircraft that fly over us every day and showering us with the dangerous heavy metal, lead. Why was there no outcry against leaded avgas, when it was mandated by government to remove it from automotive gas? The fact is the government has been experimenting for some time with aerosolized vaccines for what seems like some beneficial purposes. (NOT) Fox news reported that the Texas Dept. of State Health Services has used aerial vaccination to control a rabies outbreak in the coyote population. Canada has also done so, but to be fair, this is not the same...Flying at 500 to 1,000 feet elevation, they will drop a total of 1.8 million packets over about 7,700 square miles of rural south and west Texas before the program comes to an end later this month. The packets are dipped in fish oil and coated with fish meal to make them attractive to coyotes and foxes, which eat them and are automatically vaccinated. However, it is not difficult to see, this could have serious unintended consequences. Dogs, deer, and other wild life could eat a lot of them, getting doses far above what even the Texas Dept. of Health Services consider to be safe.

Is America overly tolerant of government collusion? Johnathan Gruber, the architect of the so-called Affordable Care Act said "...this bill was written in a tortured way to make sure CBO [Congressional Budget Office] did not score the mandate as taxes. If CBO scores the mandate as taxes, the bill dies. Okay? So it's written to do that [to be purposely confusing and obfuscating]." No one would argue there was a need for health care reform, but reform by Obama's standard is not reform at all. It is a "power grab," made possible by an obvious conspiracy to deceive the public, with the aid of the entire Democrat party and the mainstream media. America is betrayed, and Congress berated it but did nothing about it. Term limits would go a long ways toward reducing these spineless moles infesting the halls of Congress. Why Are Environmentalists Silent About the Possible Extinction of Honey Bees?
For almost two decades, the world has been experiencing a mass die-off of honeybees -- a full third of commercial beehives, which equates to over a million colonies each year. Classified as one of the biggest threats to our food supply by the USDA bee and pollination program, the cause of this mysterious syndrome was unknown up until recently. Four studies have shown that a major player in colony collapse turns out to be a class of pesticides called neonicotinoids.
Reuters journalist Richard Schiffman reported, "In the U.S. alone, these pesticides, produced primarily by the German chemical giant Bayer and known as 'neonics' for short, coat a massive 142 million acres of corn, wheat, soy and cotton seeds. They are also a common ingredient in home gardening products."
Research published in the journal Science found that neonics contaminate pollen and nectar that bees come into contact with during their rounds. Since neonics are a nerve poison, the bees become disoriented and are unable to return to the hive. Moreover, a study in Environmental Science and Technology linked neonic dust released into the air during planting time with devastating colony losses. Purdue University etymologists, meanwhile, observed that bees at infected hives displayed symptoms of acute insecticide poisoning -- including tremors, uncoordinated movement and convulsions. And the Harvard School of Public Health "actually re-created colony collapse disorder in several honeybee hives simply by administering small doses of a popular neonic, imidacloprid," said Schiffman.

NOAA and NASA publishing phony data!
This is all about feeding the global warming feeding frenzy. These government agencies have been purposely misleading the public with data from computer models, instead of real data since 2000. Read the report from "Real Science".
Despite claims to the contrary, the 2001 report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) did not show that human activities are responsible for global warming. Its conclusions were based on computer models of the earth's climate. However, the problem is so complex that the art of constructing such models is still in its infancy. The uncertainties are so great that the claim by the IPCC that "most of the observed warming over the last 50 years is likely to have been due to the increase in greenhouse gas concentrations" is "likely" to be unfounded. The Earth has been warming erratically for 10,000 years (since the last ice age). That has been good, up to now, because it's what made the non-equatorial latitudes habitable. We can expect that warming trend to continue, no matter what we do about carbon dioxide. Nonsense by any other name is still nonsense.

The report found that rates of resistance for common bacteria causing serious illness are high throughout the world and that there are significant gaps in global surveillance.

SHEA, the Society for Health Care, reports:
CHICAGO (July 16, 2014) – Cases of the highly contagious, drug-resistant bacteria, carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae (CRE), have increased fivefold in community hospitals in the Southeastern United States, according to a new study published in the journal of the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America.
"This dangerous bacteria is finding its way into healthcare facilities nationwide. Even this marked increase likely underestimates the true scope of the problem given variations in hospital surveillance practices," said Joshua Thaden, MD, a lead author of the study. "A CRE epidemic is fast approaching. We must take immediate and significant action in order to limit the transmission of these dangerous pathogens throughout our hospitals and acute care facilities."
CRE are a class of highly antibiotic-resistant bacteria that are not susceptible to most commonly-used antibiotics. Labeled "one of the three greatest threats to human health" by the World Health Organization, these dangerous pathogens can cause infections in the urinary tract, lungs, blood, and other areas. Patients with CRE infections have high risk of mortality, with at least 48 percent of cases proving fatal.
Over the five-year study period, researchers identified 305 unique patients with CRE through the Duke Infection Control Outreach Network (DICON), a cluster of 25 community hospitals in the Southeastern U.S. In this retrospective cohort, infection prevention professionals identified cases via prospective surveillance using standardized protocols in all hospitals. However, the majority of microbiology laboratories in the study had not adopted the most recent, and more sensitive, guidelines for detecting the bacteria. In hospitals that had adopted the guidelines, the rate of CRE detection was more than three times higher.
Half of the patients with CRE were symptomatic (59 percent) and nearly all cases were healthcare-associated (60 percent community-onset, healthcare-associated, 34 percent hospital onset). The higher rate of infection was found to stem from a combination of factors, including:
Increased use of broad-spectrum antibiotics;
Ease of which CRE enzymes could be transmitted among bacteria; and
Increased transmission between long-term acute care facilities and community hospitals.
