America, awash in red ink !!

Americans should be ashamed of their selfish attitudes with regard to buying habits!   Their seems to be no consideration at all for whether a product is made in America by American workers or in red Chinese sweat shops.  Has anyone stopped to consider that we are loosing manufacturing jobs by the millions because we could care less about where a product is made?  What is up with that?   Are we so concerned about saving a dollar or two that we are willing to see someone lose their job for it?

Realizing, there has been an issue of quality from time to time, yet that does not adequately explain why there is often no dialogue whatsoever, on the buyer's part, with regard to where a product is made.

This country is on the brink of economic disaster largely because we don't buy American and we don't demand retailers stock there shelves with American products!  America used to be known for it's powerhouse automotive industry. Car manufacturers got lazy and took their market for granted. They tried to gain market share back with razzle-dazzle and style, letting quality take a back seat. Competition has a way of righting that situation. Over the last five years, American cars have met and often exceeded the quality of foreign, but American buyers are still shunning Chevys and Fords, in favor of Hondas and VW's.

So, what can we do?...Buy American!

Of course there are other problems that need addressing, including an electorate that is so easily swayed by the national media. How else can we explain how Obama was elected?  The man said it himself on the campaign trail...

"We lve in the greatest country in the world...now join me in changing it"

HINT, HINT...

How did this country get to be the greatest country in the world if it were in such drastic need of change?...and change to what;  a third world country,  a socialist monarchy, a country incapable of maintaining it's superpower status?...or WHAT?

If we are able to take back (from the liberals) this country in 2010, it is going to be necessary to rebuild an entire economic infrastructure!

If there was going to be a GM takeover. it should have been like some of the airlines did; mutual-ownership and operation by the employees.  I was more in favor of a chapter 11 bankruptcy, which would allow for a reorganization. It is not like those jobs would have gone away.  GM would not have just dissolved. They have too many assets. Government ownership should never have been considered!

This administration has no regard for constitutional law and they are presently in control of Congress. Soon the courts will be completely stacked with liberals. So all of that means the country will be in a shambles, and one thing we can all do to turn things around is to BUY AMERICAN?  Yes, we will have our say at the polls, but we can also effect an economic recovery.

Hopefully, a new congress will have sense enough to lower capital gains and corporate taxes to keep what industry we do have and maybe encourage others to bring their business back to America.  That will create jobs quicker than anything else legislation can do.

One of the more drastic measures we can take to improve the number of available jobs in this country is to close our border with Mexico. It can be done, without question. We need a complete immigration freeze, at least for the time necessary to complete the border fence and adopt a more secure and sensible immigration policy.  We also need to abolish the law that grants citizenship to children born here to illegals. That policy makes nearly all of them immediate wards of the state and thus a huge drain on our economy.

We should offer a tax deduction in the amount of $1400 (roughly the cost of the conversion) to everyone who converts their cars, trucks and vans to natural gas or any biofuel.  The billions we spend on foreign oil would remain in our economy, if we can reduce the imported oil to zero.  Other incentives could be offered to oil companies who assist in the conversion, easing the transition and reducing any opposition to the move.

There is no longer any need to to be afraid of atomic energy, because it is now known how to safely recycle it's waste. This is clean and inexpensive power which would also reduce the need for coal fired power plants, thus removing air pollutants.  These are just a few common sense measures that could be implemented to revitalize the economy and bring us back from the brink of disaster.

We are sure you must have some ideas.  Join us and though we may not save the world with our ideas and discussions, we can make a difference. Attend our meeting, this Saturday (Feb. 13). See more info on home page.
